Former Fire Chief, 'Founding Farmer' From Orange County Dies: Served For Over 50 Years The Orange County community is mourning the loss of a longtime firefighter, past fire chief, and lifelong farmer whose decades of service left a lasting mark on the town he called home.  Philip “Philly” J. Hoeffner, a past chief and 52-year member of the Montgomery Fire Department, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 13, surrounded by loved ones, following a five-year battle with leukemia, according to his obituary. Beloved Northern Westchester High School Student Dies At Age 16 A 16-year-old Northern Westchester high school student is being remembered for her determination to keep working and learning throughout her courageous battle with cancer.  Brooke Audrey D’Aleo, a student at John Jay High School in Lewisboro, died on Thursday, June 27 at the age of 16 after a battle with leukemia, according to her obituary.  Born in 2007, D’Aleo began life as a joyful baby, "always smiling and giggling," her obituary said.
