New York State Police have released new details — and dramatic video — from a fiery crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Rockland County that nearly cost a driver his life. The crash happened around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, near Exit 12 in Ramapo, as Daily Voice previously reported. Troopers said on Wednesday, Sept. 17, that the driver of a Subaru Crosstrek struck a deer while traveling northbound, lost control, and slammed into a tree in the center median. Driver Pulled From Burning Car By Police After Palisades Parkway Crash In NY
A driver is alive thanks to the quick actions of police after being trapped inside a burning vehicle on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Rockland County. The crash happened around 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, near Exit 12, when a car struck a tree and caught fire with the driver still inside, according to The Monsey Scoop and the Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps. Troopers arrived quickly and pulled the victim from the burning vehicle, saving their life, the Ambulance Corps said. Several residents were saved from the rear of a burning Northern Westchester residence after officers braved flames and a downed live wire to rescue them.
