2-Alarm Fire Tears Through Home In Hudson Valley, Brings Heavy Response Firefighters battled an intense house fire in Dutchess County that required a second alarm and help from multiple departments.  The blaze began in Wappingers Falls just after noon on Sunday, Jan. 4, when Hughsonville firefighters were dispatched to 218 Old Hopewell Rd. after an alarm sounded, the Hughsonville Fire Department said. Sexual Abuse Of Child Lands Man Felony Charge: Nysp A man is accused of sexually abusing a child younger than 13, New York State Police announced on Sunday, Dec. 14. Julio Cesar Vargas Martinez, 30, of Red Hook, was arrested following an investigation into a reported sexual assault involving a child, according to the release. Investigators with the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Rhinebeck said they received information on Thursday, Dec. 11, about the alleged assault.
