Dragged Woman Out Of NY Restaurant, Stole Her Phone, Drove Off With Her Inside Car: Police
A man is accused of dragging a woman out of a Long Island restaurant, stealing her phone, and driving off with her still inside his car, police said.
Syed Ibrahim Ali, 25, of Syosset, was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of 1029 Oyster Bay Road, East Norwich, Nassau County police said.
Detectives did not say whether Ali and the 30-year-old woman knew each other, but said the disturbance escalated when he “dragged the victim out of the restaurant and pinned her to the ground.”

German Santiago, age 72, of West Haverstraw, was arraigned in Rockland County Court on an indictment charging him with 11 counts of attempted murder, 11 counts of second-degree arson, one count of first-degree criminal contempt, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Rockland District Attorney Thomas E. A Hudson Valley man was convicted of attempted murder after kidnapping, choking, and trying to stab his ex-girlfriend to death, jurors found.
