Schoharie County resident Jessica Terpenning, of Cobleskill, claimed the top prize in the Set For Life scratch-off game, scoring $5,000 a week for life. Rather than collecting the cash over time, she opted for the lump sum payout, walking away with a cool $3,367,702 after required withholdings, according to the New York Lottery. Schoharie County resident Paul Hallock, 65, of Cobleskill, was arrested Thursday, April 10, following a New York State Police investigation into alleged misconduct at William H. Golding Middle School. Fatal Crash: 22-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Region A 22-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the region. It happened around 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in Schoharie County in the town of Seward. An electric bicycle being operated by Mackenzie T. Bamberger of Cobleskill entered the intersection from Hill Road.  It was then struck by a vehicle northbound on State Route 10, according to New York State Police. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and called for emergency services.  Bamberger was airlifted from the scene to Albany Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
