Across the northern United States, residents can expect hazy skies, milky sunsets, and the occasional whiff of campfire as wildfire smoke from Canada drifts south through the summer months, according to AccuWeather.
Forecasters say that smoke impacts will be frequent and widespread, affecting much of the Northeast, the mid-Atlantic, and parts of the Midwest through late August.

The remains of a Hudson Valley native and her husband who were both killed in the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks and brought to Gaza have been returned to their family by Israeli forces.
The recovery operation, which the Israel Defense Forces undertook, was announced by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee on Thursday, June 5.
As a result of the operation, the bodies of both Orange County native Judith Weinstein of Goshen and her husband, Gad Haggai were taken back into Israel from Gaza, Huckabee said in a post on X.

More Amputated Fingertips Reported, Forcing Massive Cooler Recall To Expand
Igloo has expanded a major recall after dozens of new reports of severe fingertip injuries tied to its rolling coolers.
Igloo Products Corp. is recalling about 130,000 more coolers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, May 8. The latest recall brings the total number of affected coolers to nearly 1.2 million.
The first recall was issued for 1,060,000 Igloo coolers back in February. In total, the company has received 78 injury reports, 26 of which involved fingertip amputations, bone fractures, or deep cuts, according to the CPSC.
