A Dutchess County man is facing felony charges after police say he drove past a stopped school bus in Greene County and nearly struck a child who was getting off.
Neal V. Daley, age 51, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Saturday, March 7, New York State Police announced on Wednesday, March 11.
The investigation began the day before, on Thursday, March 6, at around 3 p.m., when a Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District bus was stopped on Route 9W in New Baltimore with its emergency lights activated and stop arm extended while dropping off a student.

A Hudson Valley firefighter, US Army veteran, and young father is facing a long road to recovery after being struck by a wrong-way driver on the NJ Turnpike last weekend, loved ones say.
Guillermo Mollins, 39, of Poughkeepsie, was in a Honda sedan when he was struck by a Ford pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Bruce Canfield, of Pottstown, PA, who was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the Turnpike early Saturday, Jan. 3, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

A man listed on New York State’s Most Wanted List was captured in Dutchess County after attempting to flee from officers, police announced.
Jose Luis Mojica, age 31, was found in Poughkeepsie just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in the area of Lexington Avenue by members of the city's police department, the department said on Thursday, June 26.
He tried to run, but officers caught him and took him into custody without further incident, the department said.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of three Poughkeepsie men concerning a burglary at a Mobil station.
The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, on Route 55 in LaGrange.
According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, deputies encountered three suspicious men near the Mobil station.
