A family attempting to make s’mores in their backyard accidentally sparked several brush fires that burned hundreds of acres on Long Island, authorities said. One person was killed in a fire that tore through a Capital Region home. Multiple agencies in Greene County responded to Main and Union streets in Catskill for a large structure fire at a row house at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.
