Cherished Winter Walk Will End After 26 Years In Capital Region For nearly three decades, a beloved Capital Region winter event will end due to ballooning costs and a lack of donations. On Friday, Sept. 20, the city announced that the Winter Walk, which took place in Columbia County in Hudson Hall, will not occur in 2024. The event has taken place the first weekend in December since 1997 on a mile of the city's main thoroughfare.
