A firefighter was injured during a blaze at a Northern Westchester home that began in the residence's garage. The incident began on Thursday, May 16 just after 6 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson firefighters raced to a home on Memory Lane for a reported blaze. Rail traffic at a Northern Westchester train station was temporarily halted when an unconscious person was found lying on the tracks, fire officials said. The incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 15 around 2:45 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson firefighters and police as well as MTA Police found an unconscious person on the tracks, the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department announced on Friday night, Feb. 16. A Hazmat team was called to the Hudson River in Northern Westchester after a resident spotted a 55-gallon drum floating in the water, fire officials said. Person Hospitalized After Hitting Deer On Busy Road In Northern Westchester
A serious crash involving a deer resulted in both a person being hospitalized and the brief closure of a busy Northern Westchester road. The incident happened on Thursday, Nov. 23 around 8:30 p.m., when a car struck a deer on the Croton Point overpass on southbound Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Man Clinging To Branch After Trying To Save Dog Rescued From Croton River
A simple walk with his dog turned into a nightmare for a man who ended up clinging to a tree branch to keep from drowning in the rushing water of the Croton River. The man became stranded while chasing his dog who ran into the water in the Croton Gorge Park section of the river around 7 p.m. Wednesday, said the Croton Fire Department on Facebook.
