Rye Post Office Features John Jay Mural
RYE, N.Y. - Inside the Rye Post office is a mural by American artist Guy Pène du Bois in 1938 titled "John Jay at His Home". Born into a French family in the United States, du Bois used art to depict the culture and society around him. His work can be seen in the Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Art, the Phillips Collection, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, the Brooklyn Museum, the Whitney, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Virginia Art Museum, as well as in the Rye Post Office.
