Man Ejected From Car, Thrown Into Ravine After Crash On I-684 In Northern Westchester
First responders carried out a careful rescue operation after a man fell over 50 feet down a ravine following a crash on a highway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 29 at around 6:30 p.m., when a three-car crash occurred on Interstate 684 in Bedford at the overpass spanning Beaver Dam Park. As a result of the crash, one man was ejected from his vehicle and sent into a ravine underneath the overpass, according to the Katonah Fire Department. Officer Saves Unresponsive Baby At Northern Westchester Home: 'Every Second Counted'
Thanks to quick and skillful action, an officer was able to save the life of a baby who had become unresponsive at a Northern Westchester residence. The incident began at around 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, when a Mount Kisco family reported that their 1-year-old child was non-responsive and not breathing, according to Westchester County Police. House Fire Breaks Out In Northern Westchester
Multiple crews responded to a fire that broke out at a home in Northern Westchester. Firefighters responded to a report of a grill fire at a residence on Route 202 in Somers at about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters found a two-story home with a fire on the exterior. With the fire spreading into the residence, crews called for additional resources in the area, officials said. A 63-year-old Westchester man killed during a single-vehicle crash on Route 116 has been identified. William S. Jackson of Mount Vernon was killed around 5:25 a.m. Tuesday in the town of Somers after losing control of his vehicle, said Trooper AJ Hicks, spokesman for the New York State Police. An initial investigation suggests Jackson was driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on State Route 116 when he lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway via the north shoulder, struck a concrete wall, and then overturned, Hicks said.
