Dog Abuser Behind Bars For Beating Animal In Hudson Valley Until It Was Bleeding: Police A 34-year-old man is behind bars after being charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal at a Hudson Valley home. Rawle A. Reynolds, of Brooklyn, was arrested around 12 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, after the Village of Monticello Police responded to a 911 call for a man "violently abusing a dog" at the Horizons apartments on Harmony Lane. Lt. Mark Johnstone of the Monticello Police said a woman opened the door and said, "He's abusing the dog," as officers heard a dog crying out in pain. New York State Police said 41-year-old Christina LaValley and 42-year-old John Paul Barton, both residents of Parish in Oswego County, were arrested on Sunday, Aug. 7, and charged with four counts of animal cruelty. Police said several dogs at their residence had porcupine quills in their faces, noses, necks, and bodies. In the video, volunteers can be seen capturing the injured swan on Spook Rock Road before helping the bird into a cage. The swan was then transported to a rehabilitation farm, where it will be treated by experts for a broken leg.
