Child Struck By School Bus In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A 6-year-old Hudson Valley boy is recovering after being struck by a school bus. The incident occurred in Rockland County around 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 26 in Monsey. According to Det. Lt. Chris Franklin of the Ramapo Police, the child was struck by a school bus on West Maple Avenue. Franklin said the child suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance Corps. Unlicensed 16-Year-Old Crashes Parents' Minivan At High Rate Of Speed In Rockland
An unlicensed 16-year-old was arrested after allegedly taking his parents' vehicle without permission and crashing at a high rate of speed. The incident took place in Rockland County around 1:45 a.m., Friday, June 5, in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police, an officer was sitting at a red light on Viola Road at College Road when he spotted a 2018 Toyota Minivan run the red light at a high rate of speed, allegedly almost hitting the officer's vehicle. Pedestrian Hit While Crossing Route 59
A pedestrian received non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 59 in Monsey. The incident took place on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the evening at Route 59 and Requa Lane, Ramapo Police said. The man was transported to the hospital for treatment. Police said it appears he was crossing Route 59 in an unsafe location -- no crosswalk or traffic light -- when he was hit.

Car Fire, Downed Trees Cause Road Closures In Rockland
This story has been updated. One roadway remains closed and two others that had been shut down have reopened in Rockland County Saturday afternoon, March 16. Route 202 reopened at 1:45 p.m. between Old Route 202 and Route 306 after being closed due to a car fire. Also in Ramapo, Camp Hill Road, between White Birch and Pomona Road remains closed due to damage from the quick moving thunderstorm Friday night, March 15. Train Strikes Car On Tracks In Hudson Valley
A driver was able to escape before a car on the tracks was struck by a train early Sunday afternoon in Rockland County. At about 1:30 p.m., the New Jersey transit train traveling to Spring Valley struck the car at the New Clarkstown Road crossing in Nanuet. The vehicle was sitting in traffic, on the tracks, when the railroad crossing gates began to come down as the train was approaching the crossing, Clarkstown Police said.
