Man Charged In Stabbing Death Of Hudson Valley Woman, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with the stabbing death of an area woman.
The murder took place in Dutchess County in the town of Wappinger around 5:40 p.m., on Sunday, May 29.
Paul J. Senecal, age 38, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Tuesday, May 31 in connection with the stabbing death of Melanie Chianese, age 29, of the town of Wappinger, said Capt. John Watterson, of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

Fire At Area Home Kills Six Dogs, Fire Department Says
A fast-moving two-alarm fire at a Hudson Valley home killed six dogs who were in the garage area.
The fire started around 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 11 in a detached garage on Lewis Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie, said the Arlington Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2393 on Facebook.
At the time of the fire, the temperatures were in the single digits, as firefighters worked to douse the flames in the garage housing multiple dogs, the union said.

30-Year-Old Woman Killed In Head-On, Wrong-Way Crash In Area, Police Say
A 30-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash on Easter.
The victim, from Wappingers Falls, was killed around 5:54 p.m., Sunday, April 4, during the crash on Route 9 in front of Nine Mall Plaza in the Town of Poughkeepsie, authorities said.
The crash occurred when an 83-year-old Wappingers Falls man was traveling south in the northbound lane of Route 9 and collided head-on with a 2019 Nissan Sentra driven by a 28-year-old man, also of Wappingers Falls, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Captain Joseph Cavaliere.

Man Wanted For Killing Wife Found Near Bear Mountain Bridge Had Been Served Divorce Papers
Just a day before George Grogan called his son and said that he had killed his mother, Audrey Grogan, he had been served with divorce papers.
George Grogan, 59, called his son on Friday, Sept. 27, he was served divorce papers on Thursday, Sept. 26, court records show.
After the call, the son notified the Town of Poughkeepsie police who minutes later responded to Grogan’s residence located at 6 Shamrock Circle in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

A man wanted for killing his wife and then leaving her body in a vehicle near Bear Mountain Bridge has been found dead.
George Grogan, 59, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was found dead during a search Thursday, Oct. 3, by Town of Poughkeepsie Police and New York State Police, along with other agencies, in a wooded area east of Bear Mountain Bridge, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Michael O'Dowd.
