Jewelry Store Heist Thwarted By Panic Button Alarm
Two armed suspects attempting to rob an area jewelry store were thwarted by a panic button alarm. Police received notification of a panic alarm around 2:50 a.m., Monday, Nov. 2, in Ulster County at the Imperial Jewelers located at New Paltz Plaza located in the Town of New Paltz. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed two masked subjects inside the establishment that were armed with weapons, said New Paltz Lt. Scott D. Butler. Man Charged With Theft Of Copper Piping From Numerous Area Homes
One person has been arrested in connection with a series of residential burglaries that involved the theft of copper piping. Ulster County resident Eric Morgan, 30, of Modena, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 28 by detectives with the New Paltz Police Department for the burglaries that occurred in both the Village and Town of New Paltz between Sept. 13 and Oct. 23, said New Paltz Police Lt. An Orange County man was arrested and slapped with 33 traffic violations and other charges for allegedly taking state police on a chase after failing to comply for a routine traffic stop for speeding. Tevon D. Dickey, 19, of Newburgh, was arrested Wednesday, April 15, and charged with unlawful fleeing an officer and reckless endangerment, as well as possession of marijuana and the 33 traffic violations, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Citing a desire to improve air quality statewide, the Hudson Valley will receive $24.2 million in new funding for three projects that will support bicycle and pedestrian transportation. New York Gov. A routine traffic stop by a City of Newburgh police officer and his K-9 partner turned into a high-speed pursuit after the vehicle refused to stop. The incident took place around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, when Officer Ricardo Rivera, and his K-9 partner Bane, attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Carson and S. Lander Street, said Det. Man Charged With Extorting Women Under 21 In Hudson Valley
An Orange County man is facing multiple charges after allegedly extorting several underage female victims, giving them alcohol and attempting to extort them, according to state police.
