Welfare Fraud Task Force Makes 2 Arrests In Region
Two women from the region have been nabbed for alleged welfare fraud. The arrests occurred in Sullivan County in Monticello on Friday, April 12, and Thursday, April 25. According to the Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force, the following arrests were made: Drewcilla R. Noel, age 31, of Monticello, was arrested on Friday, April 12, and charged with grand larceny and theft of services. Drunk Restaurant Patron Refuses To Pay Bill, Hits Fence During Getaway In Hudson Valley: Police
Things did not work out well for a drunk man who left a Hudson Valley restaurant after refusing to pay his bill and then hit a fence while driving away, police said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Thursday, April 20 just before 2 p.m., when police in Carmel received a report that a possibly intoxicated man had just left a local restaurant after refusing to pay his bill and had struck a fence with his vehicle while trying to drive away, according to Carmel Police Lieutenant Michael Bodo. Welfare Fraud: 3 Women From Region Charged With Theft Of Funds
Three women from the region have been charged with allegedly stealing government funds following an investigation by the Sullivan County Welfare Fraud Task Force. Those charged are: Lisa Keitt, age 26, of Liberty, was arrested and charged on Sunday, March 19, and charged with theft of services and offering a false instrument. It is alleged that Keitt stole services totaling $505.74 in Medicaid transportation benefits. Man Charged With Stealing Cash, iPhone From Driver After Cab Ride From Westchester To Nyack
A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly stole cash and an iPhone from a taxi driver after a ride from Westchester to Nyack. On Wednesday, Jan. 9, 39-year-old William A. Caccia of Bleeker Street in Mount Vernon took a cab from Yonkers to North Midland Avenue in Nyack. After arriving at his destination, Caccia claimed that he needed to visit his mother at Nyack Hospital in order to get money to pay his fare.
