Wanted Man Nabbed In Rockland With Help Of K-9, Police Say
A man wanted on two warrants was nabbed by Ramapo Police early Monday, Oct. 19, with the help of a K-9 officer. Early Monday, Ramapo Police reported they had received a call from the Vermont State Police stating they were looking for a suspect involved in a felony eluding case in Vermont. Vermont State Police had reason to believe that the suspect was in the Sterling Mine Road area of the Village of Sloatsburg, police said. Downed Wires Shut Down Roadway In Sloatsburg
Police have shut down a roadway in Sloatsburg due to downed primary live wires. Ramapo Police closed Sterling Mine Road around 8:30 a.m. Monday after the fire department reported the downed lines. Motorists are asked to avoid the area for at least the next several hours as crews work to repair the lines, police said. Moderate to heavy rain will continue until early Monday afternoon on a breezy day with a thunderstorm possible. Separate Serious Crashes Occur In Rockland Amid Icy Conditions
First responders had a busy morning busy morning battling icy roadways in Rockland, dealing with a pair of incidents that saw cars and trucks skittering off the road.
