Sisters On Vacation Killed In Hamptons House Fire
Police have released the names of two sisters who were killed during an early-morning house fire on Long Island.
The victims, Jillian Wiener, age 21, and Lindsay Wiener, age 19, both of Potomac, Maryland, were killed in the Southampton hamlet of Noyac around 3:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3 on Spring Lane.
The family was vacationing from Maryland, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Police.
The children, including the girl's brother Zachary, age 23, were sleeping on the second floor, and the parents were sleeping on the first floor, Ralph said.

A New York woman has admitted to leading a fraud scheme that bilked more than $1.5 million from elderly victims.
Long Island resident Mara Ficarra, of Southampton, pleaded guilty in federal court Monday, June 6, to conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud, according to the US Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District.
Federal prosecutors said Ficarra owned and led several companies, including three that published reference publications featuring biographical information of people across the country.

ID Released For Former Westchester Resident Missing After Florida Condo Collapse
As first responders continue their search for any survivors of a 12-story condo that collapsed in Surfside, Florida, local residents are holding out hope that a former resident who is among the missing will be found.
Judy Spiegel, age 65, a Long Island native from Plainview who later lived in Southampton, as well as in Westchester County, in Ardsley, is one of the 152 still listed as missing, officials said.
Spiegel's husband, Kevin Spiegel, was out of town on business when the collapse occurred.
