Juneteenth Could Become Holiday In New York By Next Year
Centuries after slavery was abolished, Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19, may soon become an official holiday recognized in New York. New York Gov. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a writer at the Wall Street Journal are using similar rhetoric as they engage in a war of words.
