A winning New York Lottery ticket worth more than $40,000 was sold at a Westchester convenience store, officials announced. New York Lottery officials announced that a jackpot-winning Take 5 ticket worth $40,933.50 was purchased at Saw Mill Pharmacy on Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers on Thursday, Feb. 10. The winning numbers for the Take-5 evening drawing were 13-16-28-37-38. Bowl For Port Chester Scholarships: Byron Womack Fundraiser This Weekend
Friends, students and teaching associates of Byron Womack, a very popular assistant principal at Port Chester Middle School, have organized a singles bowling tournament in his memory. Womack was found dead on Feb. 20 at the age of 48 of natural causes. All proceeds from the bowling tournament will go to the Byron Womack Scholarship Fund. Westchester Man Facing Murder Charge In Hit-Run
Charges have been upgraded against a 23-year-old Yonkers man who allegedly struck and killed a 16-year-old girl with his car, killing her following an argument on Nepperhan Avenue. Joel Thompson has been indicted by a grand jury on charges that include second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder, both felonies. He was initially charged with felony first-degree manslaughter following his arrest in December.
