UPDATE: A 59-year-old gasoline tanker truck driver from Paterson was killed in a massive fireball during a crash on Route 287 near the New York State border in Mahwah early Saturday, New Jersey State Police confirmed. Motorcyclist Injured In Route 17 Crash
A New York motorcyclist survived an overnight crash on Route 17 in Waldwick, authorities said. The 52-year-old Orange County resident from Middletown victim lost control of the motorcycle on the northbound highway just north of Sheridan Avenue shortly before 2 a.m., Police Chief Mark Messner said. “No other vehicles were involved and at that time and the conditions were clear and dry,” Messner said. : Mahwah Firefighters Rush From Rockland Brush Blaze To Local House Fire
Mahwah firefighters were helping their colleagues from Hillburn, Sloatsburg and Tallan douse a brush fire in a remote wooded area of Rockland on Sunday when a house fire broke out nearby in town. The fire, which originated in the kitchen, was quickly knocked down, although it did cause some damage. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Ramsey, Franklin Lakes, Allendale, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River and Suffern. No injuries were reported. WALDWICK, N.J. -- Firefighters quickly put down a blaze at a Waldwick auto repair shop late Tuesday afternoon. The two-alarm blaze broke out at J & J Auto Maintenance on Hopper Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Firefighters quickly had it under control.
