School Bus Goes Up In Flames In Hudson Valley A school bus was engulfed by flames on an Orange County road on Wednesday evening, Feb. 12.  The incident happened in Blooming Grove on Museum Village Road near Route 208, where the bus caught on fire.  The vehicle was initially reported to be a Kiryas Joel Village Union Free School District bus, but Superintendent Joel Peltlin said it belonged to a private vendor and was not related to the school district at the time of the fire.  More information about injuries and if any children were on the bus is not yet known.  This is a developing story. Support Pours In For Family Of Woman Killed With Boyfriend In Area Crash The community is coming out in force to help the family of a young woman who died along with her boyfriend during a single-vehicle crash in the area. Orange County resident Alexis Lewis, 20, of Chester, was killed along with her boyfriend, Holmes B. Shindon, 21, of Montgomery, during a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, Nov. 16, on Route 208 in the town of Hamptonburgh. Video: Woman Escapes Injury After Flames Explode From Car In Area Things got dangerous for a driver who received a shock when her car suddenly burst in flames in Orange County. The woman driving on Clove Road just off of Route 208 in South Blooming Grove told officials that she smelled smoke shortly after making the turn onto the roadway shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Her Toyota Camry then proceeded to stall out and flames burst through the hood of the car. The woman was able to escape the blaze unscathed, and firefighters were called to the scene. Working quickly, crews had the flames knocked down and extinguished in approximately 15 minutes. …

Route 208 Closure Expected To Last Until Early November A busy Orange County roadway will be closed for more than a week as crews perform construction activities in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning at 6 a.m. this week, Route 208 will be closed between Clove Road and JMD Drive in Blooming Grove. New Windsor Man Caught With Meth During Traffic Stop, Police Say An Orange County man was busted with driving on drugs while in possession of meth on Route 208 during a routine traffic stop by New York State Police troopers. Troopers on patrol early on Wednesday morning stopped New Windsor resident Christopher Raymond, 45 on Route 208 near the intersection of Denniston Road in Gardiner after he committed a vehicle and traffic law violation.
