Polio Virus Identified In Wastewater Samples Taken In Two Locations In Hudson Valley
State health officials have confirmed that the polio virus was found in more wastewater samples in the Hudson Valley. The Orange County Department of Health said it has been advised by the state health department that the virus was identified in wastewater samples taken from June and July in two geographically different locations in Orange County. Here's How Many Polio Vaccines Have Now Been Administered In Rockland; Date For New Clinic
Countywide, 379 people have received polio vaccines in Rockland with 71 of those provided by the county health department in response to a case of polio in a resident confirmed last week by the Centers for Disease Control and the state Department of Health. The ages of those vaccinated directly by the county included 39 people over 65, 30 people ages 20 to 64, and two people under 20 years old, the department of health said. Polio Vaccination Clinics Scheduled In Rockland After First Case In US In Nearly A Decade
Polio vaccination clinics have been scheduled in Rockland County after the first US case of the disease in nearly a decade surfaced in the county. To help combat any spread, the Rockland County Health Department will be offering polio vaccinations Friday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pomona Health Complex, 50 Sanatorium Road, Pomona, in Building A.
