Forced Entry Burglaries Under Investigation In Rockland
Police in Orangetown are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to track down suspects involved in a pair of Rockland County burglaries. Detectives from the Orangetown Police Department received a report on Monday, Oct. 29 of a burglary that took place on Red Oak Drive in Palisades. That same day, a second attempted burglary was reported on Sickletown Road in Orangeburg. According to police, the Palisades incident happened between the afternoon and evening hours, and the second incident took place in the evening. Westchester Man Charged After Domestic Incident In Nyack
A late-night domestic dispute in Rockland County led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Westchester man who allegedly got into a verbal altercation with a family member. Officers from the Orangetown Police Department were dispatched to a Nyack home at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, where there was a reported domestic incident. Spring Valley Man Caught With Hydrocodone Not Prescribed To Him In Nyack
A Rockland County man who was caught smoking a marijuana cigarette by police on patrol in Nyack was caught with Hydrocodone that was not prescribed to him, police said. Officers on patrol at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, spotted Spring Valley resident Edwin Ocvil, 28, smoking a cigarette that allegedly contained marijuana. When he was stopped, further investigation found that Ocvil was in possession of the prescription pills illegally. Ocvil was arrested and transported to Orangetown Police Headquarters. A 32-year-old man was sentenced to eight years in state prison after being found guilty during a jury trial for dealing drugs throughout Rockland County. A Rockland County man got his second strike from police when he was busted for his second DWI after being found asleep behind the wheel in Pearl River. Officers from the Orangetown Police Department arrested Pearl River resident John Power at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, when they were sent to investigate a suspicious vehicle that was parked on Franklin Avenue. Pearl River 7-Eleven Armed Robbery Suspect On Loose
A suspect is on the loose after an armed robbery late Friday night in the area. The robbery occurred around 10:45 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on North Middletown Road in Pearl River, according to Detective Sergeant James Sullivan of the Orangetown Police Department.
