Hudson Valley Woman With Previous DWI Nabbed Again, Police Say A Hudson Valley woman was charged with alleged DWI after police received complaints of a dangerous diver. The incident occurred in Orange County around 4 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, in the town of Newburgh on N. Pierpont Avenue.  According to Lt. Matthew Nadolny of the Newburgh Police, officers located and stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Michelle R. Shader, age 45, of Newburgh. Horse Dies In Hudson Valley From Rare Brain Disease Spread By Mosquitoes A horse has died in the region from a rare brain disease spread by mosquitoes that can also infect people. The Orange County Department of Health (OCDOH) reports a horse in the town of Newburgh died late last week of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).  The diagnosis was confirmed in test results released by the New York State Department of Health. Officials said the horse had not been vaccinated for EEE and did not travel outside the County. EEE is an extremely rare but serious and often fatal infection spread by mosquitoes. 19-Year-Old Drowns In Home Pool In Orange County A 19-year-old Hudson Valley man died after being found unresponsisve in a home pool. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 on Meadow Streeet in the town of Newburgh.
