In less than two weeks, the Hudson Valley and Long Island will enter the fourth of four planned phases of reopening the economy as New York recovers from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Seven of 10 regions in New York have already entered Phase 4, which includes reopening of some businesses and loosening the restrictions on others that were shut down during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Capital Region, Central New York, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley, North Country, Southern Tier, and Western New York are all open in Phase 4.

Hudson Valley has become the ninth of New York State's 10 regions to enter Phase 3 of reopening the economy as the state recovers from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
The region took the next step in the four-phase reopening plan as of Tuesday morning, June 23, allowing more businesses to open.
Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties make up the Hudson Valley region.
Long Island will enter Phase 3 on Wednesday, June 24, leaving just New York City in Phase 2, possibly entering Phase 3 in two weeks.

As the Hudson Valley, Long Island and New York City move to the next phases of the four-phase reopening process this week, the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and hospitalizations has continued to remain stable.
According to data released Sunday, June 21, there are 1,142 COVID-19 hospitalizations, including 332 ICU, statewide. A total of 15 COVID-related deaths have been reported since Saturday, June 20.
There were 664 new COVID cases, bringing the statewide total during the pandemic to 387,936.

The Hudson Valley and Long Island are on track to become the latest regions in New York to enter Phase 3 of opening up the economy as the state recovers from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Provided the COVID-19 numbers continue to stay steady, the Hudson Valley will enter Phase 3 on Tuesday, June 23, with Long Island following suit a day later on Wednesday, June 24.
