36 Stolen Catalytic Converters Recovered In Westchester
Police in Westchester County recovered 36 stolen catalytic converters inside a suitcase and a vehicle after being tipped that the thieves may be in the area. The incident took place in New Rochelle on Tuesday, June 21. Detectives were alerted by the Real-Time Crime Center that a Dodge Challenger suspected of being used by catalytic converter thieves entered New Rochelle via I-95 at Exit 15, said Capt. J. Two teens have been arrested for their involvement in a 2021 crash on the Southern State Parkway that killed a Long Island man last summer. The names of the two were not released by Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney due to their statuses as minors. The crash happened Monday, July 12, 2021 in North Babylon. A Hudson Valley woman may spend nearly two decades in state prison for driving while drunk in a fatal hit-and-run crash. Late on June 25, 2021, in Putnam County, James “Jimmy” Crecco, Sr. was getting into his car outside his brother’s Lake Mahopac lake house on Route 6N when he was struck by Mahopac resident Maggie Deperna, who fled the scene after hitting him. A driver had a blood alcohol concentration more than double the legal limit when he was involved in a one-vehicle crash on I-287 in the Hudson Valley, state police announced. One person was killed and another injured after the Jeep Cherokee they were driving was hit by a train in the region.
