The first grant is worth $1.92 million and is intended to replace the bridge on Grassy Point Road over the Minisceongo Creek. Cuomo signed into law legislation changing the name of the Bear Mountain Bridge to the Purple Heart Veterans Memorial Bridge. The Wallkill Office of Emergency Management issued an alert at approximately 5:30 a.m., cautioning that East Main Street will be closed between Ridgewood Avenue and Brookline Avenue as crews deal with the water main break.
