Vigil To Be Held For Beloved Westchester Community Leader Killed In Hit-Run Crash
A vigil is planned to honor a much-loved Westchester community leader who was killed by a hit-and-driver.
Stephanie Kavourias, age 65, of the hamlet of Hartsdale, was struck by a driver allegedly high on drugs or alcohol around 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 in the area of 177 Hartsdale Ave., in Hartsdale.
Kavourias, who was highly respected in the community for her service as the former manager of the Hartsdale Parking Authority, was struck by a vehicle driven by Antonio Sanchez Robles, age 42, of Brooklyn, who fled the scene, said the Town of Greenburgh Police Department.

Music Teacher Arrested In Westchester County For Having Students Pose In High Heels, Police Say
Police have arrested a music teacher for allegedly having young students dress up in high heels as he photographed them.
The arrest of Putnam County resident Stanley Indig, age 67, of Brewster, took place in Westchester County in Greenburgh after Greenburgh Police received a call from a resident on Tuesday, July 20 reporting the alleged misconduct, said Sgt. William Lugo.

Suspect Nabbed In Armed Robbery At Westchester Gas Station
A man who allegedly robbed a Westchester gas station at gunpoint before fleeing with cash has been apprehended, police announced.
The incident took place around 12:45 a.m., Thursday, May 7, at the Mobil gas station located at 381 Knollwood Road in Greenburgh, said Greenburgh Police Lt. Kobie Powell.
The suspect, identified as Mokosh Wilson, 21, of Yonkers, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register and safe, Powell said.
He then fled on foot, with the proceeds, east onto Tarrytown Road, according to Powell.

Man, Woman Nabbed Trying To Scam Westchester Resident Out Of $21K, Police Say
A man and woman are facing charges for allegedly attempting to bilk a Westchester resident out of more than $20,000, police said.
The Irvington Police Department and a Greenburgh Police Department’s task force arrested Bronx resident Bryant Pena, 29, and Genesis Cedeno, 26, for their roles following an alleged grandparent scam.
According to the Irvington Police Department, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, a 97-year-old man reported to investigators that he was contacted by a man who portrayed himself as his grandson.
