New York lawmakers are moving forward with plans to potentially replace and rebrand the Donald J. Trump State Park near the Westchester-Putnam County border. Trump State Park on the Westchester-Putnam border, citing the divisiveness that comes along with the former president's name. Paroled Killer Of 16-Year-Old Ordered To Stay Away From Rockland As Pataki Appeals To Cuomo
One of the two men convicted of killing Pearl River 16-year-old Paula Bohovesky in 1980 who was granted parole has been ordered to stay clear of Rockland County and has been banished to upstate New York. The New York Attorney General’s Office told a judge that Richard LaBarbera has been reassigned to a parole officer in Buffalo when he is released from prison this week. LaBarbera was also ordered to steer clear of Bohovesky’s mother, Lois. Initially, LaBarbera was to be assigned to a parole officer in Peekskill. Former Rockland County Sheriff Thomas J. Goldrick, known as the "Singing Sheriff," has died at the age of 93. Goldrick, who served as Sheriff from 1982 to 1991, is known for leading the department through some of its most difficult years including the trials of the Brinks robbery defendants, which had a significant impact on Rockland County, said the Rockland County Sheriff's Office.
