1 Dead, 2 Hospitalized After Gas Leak At Home ln Region A 66-year-old man died, and two others were hospitalized after a suspected gas leak at a home in the region.  The incident occurred in Sullivan County around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in Wurtsboro. Mother, Son Escape After House Fire Breaks Out In Area A mother and a son managed to escape an intense Hudson Valley house fire that was gas-fed. The fire took place around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at a two-family home located in Putnam County at 2592 Carmel Ave., in Brewster. Area Evacuated After Car Slams Into Spring Valley Home Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid the area of 91 West St., in Spring Valley after a car slammed into a home, hitting the gas meter, according to police. The incident took place around 1 p.m. Friday, when a vehicle drove into the home, hitting the gas meter, causing the home and surrounding homes to be evacuated, police said. Spring Valley police said the fire department is on scene helping to secure the safety of residents and that officials are waiting for Orange and Rockland Utilities to arrive to repair the gas leak.
