Memorial Set For Hudson Valley Teen Killed In Crash That Injured 3 Others
A teen who died in a single-vehicle Hudson Valley crash is being remembered for having an "Old Soul" and being a modern-day Renaissance man.

Orange County resident Jack Braun of Slate Hill, a hamlet of Wawayanda, died in Sullivan County around 1:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, on Route 17 West in Mamakating in a single-vehicle crash.
According to his obituary, Braun, a student at Minisink Valley High School, was born an ‘old soul' and was passionate about history, film, and music.

Longtime actor and producer Michael Douglas, a longtime New York resident, will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in Connecticut.
The 79-year-old Douglas, a Westchester County resident formerly of Bedford and now living in Irvington-on-Hudson, will be presented the award on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Fairfield County, at the Avon Theater in Stamford.

Nationally, internationally and more regionally known notables we lost in 2017 included longtime giants in their fields, from Tom Petty, Gregg Allman, Glen Campbell, Chuck Berry and Fats Domino to Mary Tyler Moore, Jerry Lewis and Don Rickles.
