Suspect Faces Felony Charge After Officer-Involved Hudson Valley Shooting
An area man has been arrested for criminal possession of a weapon after being shot by police when he allegedly threatened them with a knife.
Dutchess County resident Michael Becerril, age 29, of Fishkill, was charged on Tuesday, March 8, by New York State Police.
Becerril, who was shot at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27, at The Views at Rocky Glenn in the town of Fishkill, was arraigned virtually and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, $250,000 secure bond, or $500,000 unsecured bond after he is released from Westchester Medical Center, said Trooper AJ H…
Man Nabbed For Sexual Abuse Of A Child In Area
A man has been arrested following a month-long investigation into the sexual abuse of a child in the Hudson Valley.
Herald J. Bodensiek, age 64, of Edison, New Jersey, was arrested on Tuesday, March 8, following the investigation by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
"At this time Mr. Bodensiek is accused of having sexual contact with a child," said Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
Following his arrest, Bodenesiek was charged with sexual abuse and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

Suspect Nabbed After Police Sergeant Dragged During Traffic Stop In Hudson Valley
A New York State trooper was injured when he was dragged by a vehicle he had stopped for a traffic violation in the Hudson Valley.
Sergeant Gregory Lischak was injured in Dutchess County around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16 during the stop on Route 9G in Rhinebeck.
A preliminary investigation determined the driver, Nicolas Antunano, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was wanted on an outstanding warrant, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
While attempting to take Antunano into custody, Antunano abruptly drove away from the scene, dragging Lischak, he added.

Area Teens, Two Adults Nabbed In Stolen Vehicle With Guns, Police Say
Numerous Hudson Valley teens and two adults were nabbed in a stolen vehicle with guns after running from police.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10 in Dutchess County when the City of Poughkeepsie Police spotted a stolen vehicle in a parking lot.
The vehicle was reported stolen out of Stamford, Connecticut, and occupied by several individuals, said Det. Sgt. George Camacho, of the City of Poughkeepsie Police.

Two Busted With 148 Grams Of Crack Cocaine During Taconic Parkway Stop, State Police Say
New York State Police troopers on patrol on the Taconic State Parkway in Dutchess County busted two with nearly 150 grams of crack cocaine, authorities announced.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26 for a vehicle and traffic violation on the parkway in Pleasant Valley, investigators announced on Monday, Jan. 31.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an area woman who was found dead in her home.
Dutchess County resident William Dicke, age 42, of Rhinebeck, was arrested early Monday, Jan. 24, for the murder which took place on Saturday, Jan. 22.
According to Trooper AJ Hicks, on Saturday around 12:30 p.m., State Police were dispatched for an emergency medical response to a residence on Mill Road in the town of Rhinebeck.

26-Year-Old Charged With Murder After Stabbing At Area Residence
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death.
Dutchess County resident David A. Trotta Jr., age 26, of Amenia, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 16, and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to Trooper AJ Hicks, state police responded to a home around 11:50 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting a stabbing.
Once on scene the suspect, Trotta, was immediately taken into custody, Hicks said.
