ID Released For 20-Year-Old Killed In Route 17 Crash
New York State Police have identified the person killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 17 on Wednesday. Devon Persaud, 20, of Queens Village, died around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16 on Route 17 near Exit 129 in Blooming Grove, said New York State Trooper Steve Nevel. Troopers found Persaud's 2007 Dodge Caliber down an embankment, state police said. There were no passengers in the vehicle. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
