A lifelong resident in the region who worked for nearly two decades at an area surgical center has died at the age of 58.
Dutchess County resident Elizabeth "Tiki" Rodgers, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, in Poughkeepsie, according to her obituary.
She was born in Poughkeepsie and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School.
Rodgers worked for Dutchess Dutchess Ambulatory Surgical Center for nearly 20 years, her obituary said.

A Westchester County woman who spent more than 30 years working as a special education teacher at a high school has died at age 69.
Mary Jacinta Saffran died unexpectedly at her home in Irvington on Saturday, May 14, according to her obituary.
"She was an outstanding and beloved special education teacher at Lincoln High School in Yonkers, NY for 36 years," her obituary reads. "A vivacious lover of life, her passions were traveling, cooking, entertaining, and helping anyone in need."

A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, who worked as a freelance photographer and a carpenter, has died unexpectedly at age 27.
Putnam County resident Ryan Daly, of Mahopac, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 11, according to his obituary.
Daly was born in North Tarrytown, and he was a graduate of Mahopac High School with the class of 2012, his obituary said.
He went on to earn a bachelor's degree at Savannah College of Art and Design.

A Hudson Valley man has been killed fighting alongside Ukraine this week, according to CNN.
Willy Joseph Cancel, age 22, formerly of Orange County, was killed while working with a private military contracting company when he was killed on Monday, April 25, CNN reported.
Cancel, a former US Marine, and a corrections officer in Tennessee, signed up to work for the company shortly after the war broke out a the end of February, his mother, Rebecca Cabrera confirmed to CNN.

A former college athlete and longtime member of a Westchester County fire department has died at the age of 63.
Joseph J. Garan III, a resident of Putnam Valley, died suddenly at home on Friday, March 11, according to his obituary.
Garan was born in Yonkers, and he participated in a number of sports growing up, such as baseball, golf, and football.

James “Dylan” Karczewski, of Larchmont, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 9, according to his obituary.
