NY State Police Increase Patrols At Jewish Centers, Synagogues After Pittsburgh Mass Shooting
This story has been updated. New York State Police will be increasing patrols around Jewish centers and synagogues after a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday morning, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced. Eleven people were killed at Tree of Life Congregation in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh during a baby-naming ceremony. UPDATE: A 29-year-old man accused of killing four people in a Tennessee waffle house shooting this weekend was in custody, authorities said Monday afternoon. Metro Nashville Police tweeted just after 2 p.m. Monday that Travis Reinking had been "arrested moments ago." Murder warrants were being drawn up, authorities said. Man Caught With Loaded Assault Rifle After Route 17 Crash In Goshen
A 35-year-old intoxicated motorist who crashed his Chevrolet pickup truck off the road, striking a vehicle parked on the shoulder on Route 17 in Orange County, is behind bars after police found he was in possession of an assault rifle. The investigation after the crash on Sunday, Jan. 21 in Goshen determined that Jeffrey Burns of Fort Morgan, Colorado was intoxicated, state police said. Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of a loaded AR-15 as well as several magazines and several hundred rounds of ammunition, state police said.
