An iconic pizzeria chain with a location in Westchester County is reportedly going to expand far beyond in roots in the region and open a new location in Florida, according to Naples Florida Weekly. A review of mail-forwarding requests is revealing where New York City residents moved to after the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak began. The United States Post Office received double the monthly average of mail-forwarding requests from New York City in March with 56,000, with that number increasing to 81,000 in April, according to The New York Times. Wegmans Edges Close To 100 Stores With New Westchester Location Coming
Wegmans Food Markets, which will soon be unveiling a location in Westchester, is now just two stores from having 100. That means the family-owned supermarket chain based in Rochester, will open its 100th store in 2019. Wegmans has plans for 14 other new stores in the next two years, including one along Westchester Avenue in Harrison near three major highways -- I-684, I-287 and I-95 -- as reported here by Daily Voice. Wayne Hills Grad Among 8 Rutgers Football Players Charged In Credit Card Fraud Scheme
Eight Rutgers University football players were charged for involvement in a credit card fraud scheme with multiple victims, authorities said. Brendan R. Devera, 18 of Totowa, was also charged with promoting organized street crime and money laundering, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Rutgers University Police Chief Kenneth Cop said. Westchester Man Dies After Fall While Hiking
A 43-year-old man from Westchester died after losing his footing while hiking on a mountain in the state of Washington. James Rothwell, who grew up in Mount Pleasant and graduated from Westlake High School in 1992, was with two other hikers on Buck Mountain in Chelan County, when he fell about 50 feet on Saturday, Aug. 4, according to the Seattle Times.
