Tomkins Cove Man Arrested On Weapons Charge, Endangering Welfare Of A Child

STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police arrested a 64-year-old resident of Tomkins Cove on weapons and child endangerment charges after an incident on Friday.

The suspect, identified as Richard Licata, was taken into custody following an investigation into a dispute between neighbors, police report.

Licata allegedly approached and threatened several victims with a sickle during the incident, including a 7 and 9 year old, according to officials.

Licata was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree, menacing in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child and disorderly conduct, police report.

After processing, the defendant was released on an appearance ticket returnable on Thursday, July 7, according to officials.
