Saira Vargas of Stony Point was arrested after police responded to a restaurant for a report of a disorderly patron, said Lt. Daniel Hylas of the Stony Point PD.

When officers were interviewing Vargas, she became violent towards them outside the restaurant and began physically fighting them as she was being placed under arrest, Hylas said.

One officer sustained a blow to the face which did not require medical attention.

Vargas was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and released on her own recognizance. She is due to appear in Stony Point Justice Court on Jan. 3.
