Officers from the Stony Point Police Department were dispatched to Knights Corner late on Sunday, March 18, where there was a report of a fight involving two men.
Upon arrival, police said that officers spoke to the victim, who had suffered injuries to his head and mouth as a result of the altercation involving Stony Point resident German Santiago, who allegedly struck the victim several times in the head.
Following a brief investigation, Santiago was arrested at the scene and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Following arraignment, Santiago was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Stony Point Justice Court on April 10 to answer the charge.
