New York State Police have announced the arrest of 25-year-old Woodridge resident Yermia “Jeremy” Solomon, an officer with the Monticello Police Department, after an investigation determined that he had engaged in sexual relations with a minor who was less than 17-years-old.
Police said that Solomon has been charged with a felony count of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Solomon is currently on paid leave.
Solomon was arraigned in Thompson Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. An order of protection was also issued on behalf of his alleged victim. Solomon is due back in court later this year.
