Man Arrested For Allegedly Throwing Woman To Ground In Stony Point

A 21-year-old man was arrested after allegedly throwing a woman to the ground and damaging property during an altercation in Stony Point.

Paul Bennett, of Tomkins Cove, was arrested on Jan. 22 after Stony Point Police responded to a home on Walter Drive for a report of an unruly man, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel J. Hylas. 

When police arrived on the scene they found Bennett had an altercation with a woman and during the fight, he allegedly damaged property and threw the victim to the ground, Hylas said.

During a search, police also found that he was in possession of marijuana. 

Bennett was charged with two counts of criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and harassment. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 19.
