He was born June 7, 1932, in Brooklyn, the N.Y., Paul and Lucy De Gennaro.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, De Gennaro obtained a bachelor's in business administration. He then attended law school. He started State Abstract Corporation, doing title insurance work at 60 South Main St., in New City, for nearly 50 years.
De Gennaro was a dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, in West Nyack, and an enthusiastic member of the church choir. He and his wife took in foster children, Vietnamese refugees, foreign exchange students -- and adopted their four children.
He is survived by his wife, Marian; children Andrew, Gaetana, Ronald and Matthew De Gennaro; and grandchildren Jasmine and Gavin De Gennaro.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 728 West Nyack Road, in West Nyack.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrot Road in West Nyack.
Internment will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Brick Church Road, in Spring Valley.
