Troopers Save Woman From Bear Mountain Bridge Jump

New York State police troopers were able to prevent a woman from jumping from the side of Bear Moutain Bridge near Fort Montgomery.

The troopers received information around 10 p.m. Wednesday, that the woman was attempting to jump from the bridge, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

By 10:12 p.m., responding troopers were able to talk the woman down from the bridge, he said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

During the event, divers and aviation units were on standby in the event the woman jumped.
