Walls are going up for the two-story house that will likely be ready by summer. Families apply to Habitat for Humanity to live in the houses built by volunteers, often with the help of families themselves, lohud.com reports.

Workers, including a group from Rockland Community College, plan to come out to the site twice per week. Neighbors, meanwhile, are glad to see the vacant lot come to life, lohud.com says.
