PIERMONT, N.Y. -- Next Saturday, July 16th, the Town of Piermont will hold its annual Bastille Day Celebration. Piermont Avenue will be closed to all traffic and the street will be lined with French-themed food and fun.
From a reenactment of the storming of the Bastille to attendees dressed in period clothing, the day sponsored by the Piermont Chamber of Commerce, will be chez french!!
Our menus at both Xaviars at Piermont and The Freelance Café will be totally devoted to cuisine Francaise and will include all the Bistro classics, Escargot, Pate Grandmere, Coquille St. Jacques, Steak Frite and Soufle’s to name a few. French wines and Kronenberg Beer will be served inside and out.
In front of the restaurants I will be manning our sidewalk specialties served on a long communal table down the center of Main Street in front of our Eiffel Tower. An oyster bar with chilled jumbo shrimps, clams and a selection of oysters shucked to order will be at one end; at the other, expect great wheels of Brie cheese and the classic Saussison de Lyon served with mustard and sliced fresh baked baguette.
If you've never experienced Bastille Day in Piermont I encourage you to visit this special little town and discover what all the fun is about!!
