The actor, who won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Jean Valjean in the 2012 film version of "Les Miserables," sent the school a14-second video wishing them luck with their production.
In the video, which was posted on YouTube, the "Wolverine" star congratulated the students on their efforts and then signed off with the traditional Australian theater good luck saying of "Chookas," instead of "Break a Leg."
During the video, Jackman also slowly says their name: "North Rockland High School Drama Society..." then says, "Society. I like the 'Society."
The society's production of "Les Miz," hits the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and March 16, 17 and 18 at the school, 106 Hammond Road. Tickets are $12 for students and seniors and $15 for adults. For more information, call 845-942-3300 ext. 4954.
