Hayrides, Petting Zoo Highlight South Orangetown Day
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Residents can expect a day of fun and lovely fall weather to enjoy the second annual South Orangetown Day on Saturday. The day, which celebrates the South Orangetown community, features hayrides, a petting zoo from Bell-ans Farm, exotic animals, face painting, arts and crafts, and more, said Phyllis Dodge, one of the organizers of the event.
"We have a proud and thriving community who wants to represent and celebrate," she said.
The event runs from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at Bell-Ans, 103 S. Greenbush Road. Admission is free.

Congers Ultimate Yard Sale, Flea Market Rained Out, Makeup Date Announced
CONGERS, N.Y. -- The rain may have put a damper on the fifth annual Congers Ultimate Yard Sale and Flea Market on Saturday, but the sun will come out again -- hopefully for the event's scheduled rain date this weekend.The yard sale and flea market is now scheduled from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, according to the Veterans Memorial Association of Congers, Inc. (VMA), the local group organizing the event.
