Ramapo MLK Day Event Brings Diverse Groups Together To 'Save' Planet
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- More than 100 nonprofit, faith-based, environmental and other organizations will be gathering in Spring Valley Monday, Jan. 16, not only to honor civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but to offer a message of hope about the fate of the planet itself, said Marc Pessin.

Chance To Learn, Better Understand Dementia In Clarkstown
NANUET, N.Y. – The Alzheimer’s Association has scheduled a pair of events this December to educate people about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related conditions.
“Understanding and Responding to Dementia-related Behavior,” is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. on Dec. 12 at Meals on Wheels, 121 W. Nyack Road, Nanuet, according to a statement from the Alzheimer's Association.
On Dec. 20, the group is to offer a “Virtual Dementia Tour” in 30-minute sessions from 5 – 8 p.m. at Meals on Wheels, the Alzheimer’s Association said.

Keep Rockland Beautiful Gala To Honor Businesses, Educators
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Keep Rockland Beautiful is holding its Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 7-10 p.m. at the HNA Palisades Premier Conference Center in Palisades.
The event, which also serves as the group's major fund-raising effort of the year, will include dinner, a world fusion performance by pianist John McDowell with Michael Wimberly on the djembe, an upcycled art and photography display, a silent auction and raffle.
